Peripheral neuropathy is a debilitating progressive disease that affects the nerves in the peripheral nervous system. These are the nerves that are outside of the brain and spinal cord. Most often, peripheral neuropathy starts in the hands and feet and can progress into the arms and legs. When dealing with peripheral neuropathy, it is common for people to experience numbness and tingling, sensations of pins and needles, and an inability to feel their hands and feet. Increased feelings of cold and heat are also often experienced as well as increased sensations of pain in the hands and feet. These symptoms often affect one’s ability to complete daily tasks such as walking, going up and down the stairs, working, fastening buttons, cooking, and even just being able to stand.

The most common approach we have seen our patients take before seeing us is to try medications such as gabapentin, wearing special neuropathy socks and shoes, and some have even been suggested amputation and contemplated that as an option. By the time we see patients with peripheral neuropathy, we are usually their last resort and they are at their wit’s end with what they have been dealing with.

Initially, upon seeing us, we do a comprehensive 16-point neuropathy exam to see exactly where your neuropathy is at and how much sensory loss you are experiencing. Due to our detailed exam procedure, we create a specific neuropathy protocol to help heal your nerves without the use of drugs and surgery allowing us to have tremendous success. With how complex of an issue peripheral neuropathy is, the healing does take time and it takes a lot of effort both on our part and on yours, but the results are completely worth it. Don’t just take our word for it however, check out our patient testimonials here https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcr5ydy8GnSiKqzAf86_6mSRrvDetsQXN and see what they have to say for themselves. After doing that, if you are serious about getting your health back and healing your neuropathy, set up an appointment with us to see how we can help you here https://www.abundantlifechiropractor.com/services/#neuropathy
